One may never need to say goodbye until the unfortunate situation occurs. It’s when you realize that the person who is leaving meant something to you. It’s at that moment in time you feel a human-to-human connection with the other person. And it’s at that moment that you feel a hurt that attacks your heart so fast, that you may need a moment to sit and embrace the reality of having to say goodbye.
Even with the knowledge of the separation, letting the words “goodbye” escape your lips is a task so painful, rehearsal of the act may sometimes be necessary. But it’s no hidden truth that no matter how much you run the image of that partition in your head, the reality of it will conjure up more emotions than your body can digest at once.
The air will feel thick and dense and breathing will feel less like something you have to do but rather like something you need to do to survive the moment. You’re heart will beat a thousand different rhythms, and if time were to stand still for just a second, you would be able to feel each and every vibration of the beat run through your blood stream. The colors of the world will appear dull and lifeless. And on that day, the sky will lead an orchestra of thunder and lightning that will produce rain drops that will mimic the thousand different rhythms of your heart beat on the cold concrete floor.
Your hands will shake, your knees are certain to buckle and you will crave the support of a stable object by your side because standing up tall will be impossible at this moment. You will blink and fight back the tears but at some point, you’ll join the sky’s orchestra and let your own tear drops fall. And just when you think you can no longer take the pain surging through your veins, you will open your mouth and that word, that one word, will slip out and put an end to this suffering.
The days to follow will be painful and you’ll regain the strength to carry on. Breathing will return to its normal state, your heart beat to its normal rhythm and the colors will live again. At some point, the sun will come up and the memory of saying goodbye will follow in sequence to all the memories you share with the person who left. And you’ll smile because you’ll realize that sometimes saying goodbye is just really saying “see you later”.

missed me?

Hey everyone!
Oh man, I know it’s been well over a month since I’ve blogged, but I have valid reasons. First being that I’m pretty much working 7 days a week. Why, you wonder? Because I made the not so smart decisions of getting myself into all kinds of financial troubles. Luckily, I’m still young enough to fix my situation before it creeps up my ass and get’s me into a load of trouble. It only sucks cause, well, I have no days off, but it’s a sacrifice I need to perform in order to better my life. Second, I joined a gym and I’m trying to stick to it. So far so good. I also got myself a yummy personal trainer who goes by the name of Mark. Over the few weeks that I’ve been with him we’ve developed a love-hate relationship, well that notion is totally one sided because he doesn’t have the hate factor; he loves me, everyone loves me J. So back to the relationship; love, because I’m actually seeing the results, he takes my whining and bitching, and he makes it a good ol’ time. Hate, because my everything hurts after seeing him. My EVERYTHING HURTS. But it’s worth it and I’m somewhat enjoying it and it’s a great self gift for my 21st birthday. Thanks dude: D
In between the two major daily activities that I’m stuck performing, I’ve also done a few things like watch a few movies (Coraline (great movie; 3D is awesome) Fast and Furious (a very sexy movie, what I would do to a man who drives like that) Watchmen (a great, intelligent story, the blue guy, totally had me going) and a few others I can’t remember. I’ve also tested some beauty products such as Nicole nail lacquer by OPI. One word to describe these: AMAZING. The colors are vibrant and eye-catching and they last a good week before they start chipping. I’ve also turned into a mascara whore, and purchased about 4 in the last month. Of the 4(Cover Girl’s lash blast, L’Oreal double extend, lash stiletto and Curl Power both from Maybelline), lash blast takes it. However, all the other mascaras are in hot pursuit and I’m actually super impressed by them. They all work very well.
I’ve also taken into consideration my summer look and im quite excited about it. With all the lunges and squats and stair running that Mark has me doing, I feel like I owe it to my legs to wear shorts and skirts and dresses all summer. So in addition to the boyfriend look, which I’ve been slowly easing my way into, I’ll be into flirtatious summer dresses and the summer basics, shorts and t-shirts. Accessories are also going to be important this summer, so stock up on them!

Stay tuned for more, and I promise not to disappear on ya’ll again
xoxo

Saying Goodbye

For many years you have been there for me, supplying deliciously flavored food at very affordable prices, giving me options to create my own meals in various sizes. You also offered me tasty treats for dirt cheap and you never failed to satisfy my cravings. You were open to me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and all I ever really needed was $1.50 to have a date with you. Your breakfast sandwiches…oh what can I say about those? They were completely delectable and will always remain one of my favourites of all time. You were there before school, during breaks, after school, on days when I didn’t want home cooked meals, on days when I had no choice, and any other time to service me. You are international and that warms my heart. I was excited to grab a bite when my flight stopped in Amsterdam and I was even more excited in South Africa. For 2, years you put money in my pocket and allowed me to be comfortable. You even gave me my first position in the management field, and even though the stress was unbearable sometimes, it was a wonderful learning experience. It saddens me that I must now say goodbye because well you’re no good. I gained an unhealthy 60 pounds working for you, creating a body I have to work hard to get rid of. Your foods as delicious as it is, always made me feel gross after and you’re uniforms were very unfashionable. So I am saying goodbye McDonalds’. Goodbye.

Yummy Yum Yum

For those who know my personally, you most likely know that I have a radar that picks up tall guys, tall white guys in particular (please no one be offended, they’re just my preference). So Thursday evening, while I was at work, in the midst of a conversation with my favorite co-worker, Jonathon, my radar went into hyper motion and picked up a gorgeous young man stepping onto the sale floor. It took me but a second to realize that the gentleman was none other than Nicholas "Nico" Archambault, the winner of so you think you can dance Canada. Now I never did watch that show religiously (between school and work, I hardly watched TV) but I had seen enough episodes to know who he was and may I say, this man is completely delicious. For the 38 seconds that I had my eyes on him, I saw the mountains, clouds, the sun, the moon, and every single star in the Milky Way. I wasn’t star struck; I was completely paralyzed by his sex appeal. Oh my. I tried to find some naughty-like pictures of Nico but unfortunately none are up. Yet. Anywho, Nico if you ever stumble upon this, let it be known that you are gorgeous J

Boyfriend look

Spring is right around the corner, and the thing I’m most excited about is the FASHION TRENDS!
Any of you who follow fashion, loosely or closely, know that the trends this spring include well-tailored pieces, romantic feminine pieces and my absolute favorite; THE BOYFRIEND LOOK. For those who know me personally, the boyfriend look has been my personal favorite for years. There is nothing more comfortable than a pair of pants that are a size too big, a wife beater and a button down shirt.
In recent months, the boyfriend look has been made more popular by celebrities such as Katie Holmes, Lindsay Lohan and Reese Witherspoon. Even Victoria Beckham, queen of ferocious fashion, gave the boyfriend look a try.
To achieve this look in a simple and easy way, grab a pair of jeans a size up (straight leg or even a skinny leg) roll the leg up if they’re too long, wear it with either a wife beater, a basic v-neck t-shirt or a plain button up shirt. Feel free to accessorize it as much as you want (belts, chains and my favourite; fedoras) or keep it completely laid back.
Enjoy this look on a lazy weekend, or any day of the week for that matter!

Welcome

After months and months of thinking to create a blog, I sat down and actually did it. The joke of it all is that, I thought it would take me forever to sign up, but it actually took me less than 3 mintues. Anywho, welcome to my blog. And if you're thinking why in the hell I called it gnomes, its my first names combined; Gloria and Noemie= Gnomes. May not be the smartest thing, but I enjoy it :) My blog will consist on my opinions on everything from books, to movies, to fashion to politics, but please don't take anything seriously, it will mostly just be me ranting.

Hope to see you soon!!!!
